When you've been one of the top fashion labels in America for 22 years, been worn by everyone, to everything, and hang in most of the closets of the wealthiest most tasteful women in the world what do you do next? You do what got you there. Mark Badgley & James Mischka deserve a great deal of credit for a great many things but their client focus should be at the top of the list. They never sacrificed pleasing the women who adore their designs in a mad rush to be everything to everybody tomorrow. This is not to say they are staid or boring. Their designs are always of the most beautiful fabrics and executed with the highest skill. They've managed to be at once sleek, opulent, romantic and sexy. That's pretty impressive, why would you mess with it?
